Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 September 2026
These terms govern your use of the domscout API and dashboard. domscout is operated by an individual owner and is not a registered company. By creating an account or using an API key you agree to these terms.
1. The service
domscout is a programmatic browser and web data API. You send a URL and receive a screenshot, PDF, Markdown, extracted fields, a DOM snapshot, or the result of a bounded crawl or scheduled monitor. Access is by API key and through the dashboard.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration details and are responsible for everything done with your API keys. Keep them secret; treat one in a public repository as compromised and rotate it in the dashboard. Tell us promptly at support@domscout.io if you believe a key has leaked.
3. Plans, credits and billing
Plans and prices are listed on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. Each plan includes a monthly quota of captures.
Requests are weighted: a plain capture costs one credit and richer options cost more. The exact weight table is returned by GET /credits, which is free to call, so the price of a request is knowable before you make it.
Usage beyond your included quota is metered at the per-capture rate shown on the pricing page and invoiced in arrears. Metered usage is capped at a multiple of your included quota; past that, requests are refused rather than silently billed. Quotas reset each calendar month and unused quota does not carry over.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel at any time from the dashboard. Cancellation stops future renewals; your plan continues to the end of the period already paid for. Metered usage already incurred remains payable.
We do not offer pro-rata refunds for partial periods. If the service fails on our side — a defect or an outage that prevented you using what you paid for — contact us within 30 days and we will refund the affected portion. Requests that fail for reasons on our side do not consume credits; the reservation is released automatically.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use the service to:
- access systems you are not authorised to access, or bypass authentication, paywalls, or access controls;
- capture material that is illegal, or that infringes someone else’s rights;
- collect personal data in breach of applicable data protection law;
- overwhelm a third-party site, or evade its rate limits or protections;
- resell raw capture capacity as a competing general-purpose browser API;
- circumvent quotas, credit accounting, or plan restrictions.
You are responsible for the URLs you submit and for having the right to capture them. Crawls respect the target’s robots.txt. We may suspend an account that we reasonably believe is breaching this section, and will tell you why.
6. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee on self-serve plans. Synchronous requests run under a bounded response window; work that exceeds it is returned as a durable job to poll rather than failed. We may change or withdraw features, and will give notice of material changes that affect paid plans.
7. Your content
You keep all rights in the content you capture. We store it only to deliver the service, for the retention period your plan sets, and we do not use it to train models. See the Privacy Policy.
8. Warranties and liability
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms, for non-payment, or where required by law. On termination your access ends and stored captures are deleted according to the retention rules.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified to account holders by email before they take effect, and the date above will change. Continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of India. domscout is operated by an individual owner and is not a registered company, so no registered address is published; the contact route is email. Payments are taken by Dodo Payments as merchant of record, and their own terms additionally apply to the transaction. Email: support@domscout.io.
